One of the things Sea Scouts get to do, is to go on cool cruises. Long Cruise this year was an eight-day cruise in the northern parts of Puget Sound and the San Juan Islands. First light at Port Townsend. |

It was really a good sunrise!! |

Birdwatching by Protection Island. We saw lots of puffins, bald eagles and other interesting birds that I've forgotten the names of. The beach of the island was pretty much covered in seals. |

Then that pesky outboard just would not start. It ran fine a few days earlier. But now nothing could bring it back to life. Fortunately we had a spare. |

Steamin' into the sunset at Sucia Island. |

When photographing a sunset, always remember to look away from the sun too. Something interesting might show up. Such as this tranquil image. Mt. Vernon is barely visible in the horizon. |

In Bellingham, somebody had strung up a bunch of kites for no apparent reason. |
