In July I went with a friend to Mt. Rainier to watch the sunrise. We had an awesome trip, did some hiking and also got a chance to visit Mt. St. Helens.

Night clouds at Mt. Rainier. This is a 15-minute exposure. The red glare on the trees is from the lights on the car. I didn't notice any light on the trees when I took the picture, but in a 15-minute exposure it doesn't take many photons per minute to form an image on film... The white streak of light at the top of the picture is a star trail. Caused by the Earth's rotation. |

Sunrise at Sunrise Point. This is exactly what we came for!! Awesome! The entire sunrise lasted about 30 seconds. Maybe a minute. |

Mt. Rainier reflected in Reflection Lake. The sunrise seen from this spot was not as spectacular as the one at Sunrise Point. But still pretty good... |
