Grand Teton National Park

Immediately south of Yellowstone is Grand Teton National Park. It has no thermal features, but is just genuinely beautiful.

Leaf macro picture

The first day I was there was actually not all that photogenic. But I sure didn't drive 2000 miles just to sit and sulk because of sub-optimal weather. It seems like my favorite pastime activity in not-so-great weather is macro photography. The complementary colors set me off and voila a picture was composed... :-)

Grand Teton Sunset

The sunset was almost non-existent. As I was packing down my gear, Mother Nature put on this dramatic light show. I quickly put the camera back on the tripod and took this picture. Moments later the light was gone. Be patient at sunsets. You may experience the unexpected.

Grand Teton Moon

After sunset I noticed the full moon was up. So before the light disappeared completely, I made a few pictures.

Grand Teton Sunrise

Because of the sub-optimal weather, I decided to stay another night at Grand Teton. This was definitely the right decision as the sunrise next morning was absolutely incredible.

Jenny Lake

About two hours after sunrise at Jenny Lake.
