In the beginning of August I went on a two-week road trip covering Yoho, Banff National Parks in Canada and Glacier, Yellowstone, Grand Teton National Parks in the U.S. as well as Craters of the Moon National Monument in Idaho. I also managed to visit my friend Mark in Portland, OR.

On this trip I learned that Canada is very, very wet and cold. For the entire time I was there, it was raining quite heavily. The landscapes were not very photogenic and I was quite annoyed to say the least. But then I pulled out the macro lens and got some good shots after all. |

Finally, almost before sunset, the sun broke through the clouds and provided a bit of dramatic light. It only lasted about 10 minutes. Then it was dark. |
