My previous experience shooting hockey with my Canon 10D had left me somewhat disgruntled about the performance of the auto focus system. So for the alumni game, I decided to try something better. Thus, I rented a Canon 1D II. Fantastic piece of hardware. The percentage of in-focus shots went up quite dramatically which made it much easier (or at least less difficult) to capture some action. |

The coach invited me to shoot from the player's bench. In addition to the unobstructed view of the game, it provided a unique opportunity to shoot some player portraits as the players came off the ice. |
